• The tournament will be Handicap singles and doubles
• The tournament will be held on two Wednesdays, Dec. 2 and Dec. 16 2009.
• Dec. 2nd  We'll start with doubles first, then follow by early rounds of singles.
• Dec. 16th  Continue and finish singles tournament. Prizes for all winners will be given on that night.
• Players who can only come on Dec. 16 can participate in the singles tournament only.
• Pre-registration is required. The deadline is Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009.
• No extra fee to enter the tournament (other than the usual season pass or drop-in fee).
• All rated players are eligible and encouraged to participate in the tournament.
• Singles: There will be four divisions: Mayo, IBM, Youth (including college age students), and Others (for those who don't belong to the first three divisions). Two winners from each division will move on to play in the grand championship.
• Doubles: Open division only. Please find your own doubles partner if possible. You may partner with any player. If you don't have a partner prior to the tournament, we will try to find one for you.
• Draw for doubles will be done at 7:00 pm on Dec. 2nd. Draw for singles will be done later that evening.

• Format of play: round-robin followed by single-elimination.
• The most recent ratings (from the latest results) will be used.

Rules

• The match is best 2 out of 3 games. Each game is up to 21 points.
• A higher rated player spots some points to a lower rated player depending on their rating differences (to provide an equal win opportunity to all players).
• The higher rated player will serve first and the lower rated player will get to pick a side. For subsequent games, players alternate serving (the player or pair serving first in a game shall receive first in the next game of the match).
• In case of no rating difference or no points spotted, regular drawing of service should be used. One person would then pick to serve, and the other pick the side of the table.
• 5-point change of service will be used. When the game starts, the player who served first will only serve until the points are divisible by 5.

The first column in the table is the rating differences between the two players, and the right column is the number of points that the higher rated player would spot for the lower rated player. For example, if Player A has a rating of 1500 and Player B has a rating of 1000, the match would start with 0-11 in favor of Player B.
