This years America's Team Championship is in Rockford Illinois Memorial Day weekend May 28 - 29.
RTTC will be represented by 2 teams. One team is Tuan Truong, Brenda Nguyen, Dave Judd and Chris Sorenson.
The second team is Juniors, Chris and Brandon Lam, Ben Kubesh and Michael Tran.

Day One Report from Chi Lam.

Finished day 1, going well.

Nice facility, 32 tables (at least), 32 teams (nice to see), 4 division (Div A highest, Div D lowest). A China junior team is here (flew in from China, top seed). Generally, teams are much stronger rating-wise than before. Div C in general is in 1800 - 1900 range. Div B are close to 2000 range. Div A are all over 2100 and up.

Both of our RTTC teams started in Group D. Both teams got to play one of the team C in the prelim.

Juniors team beat team C, so ended up in Group C. Tuan's team stayed in D.

The afternoon 3 team match in the group, then tomorrow 4 to finish the team and the round robin results will determine the finish.

Juniors team seeded 8th (last) in Div C.

Played top seed first, up 4-3 in tie matches, couldn't quite finish, lost in 9th game, and lost the tie.
Then lost to seed #4 0-5 (long pips, anti-spin ... etc)
Then won seed #3 5-2

Michael continued to be impressive, won all the matches but 2. Beat one 2000+ players, and at least a few 1900+ along the way.

Ben played strong, beating some good 1600, 1700, 1800 plus players

Chris and Brandon both beat a 1700+ players, and many close losses against 1800 / 1900 players.
